Trees Stand Tall
By Gary Walker
Trees stand tall and reach for the sky,
Birds nest there and learn how to fly
Isn’t it all a wonder within,
How worlds’ turn and fish swim?
Endless vistas; beasts roaming free,
Is this the Truth or sub reality?
Granite rock seems solid, but moves in slow motion,
A leaf on a tree is like a drop in the ocean
One is for all and all is for one,
This even applies to cosmos and fun
Is this what they mean that by looking inside,
We see we are it, the Groom and the Bride?
How does one come to the answers to Why,
Is it in babies face and clear open sky?
The winds sing and countless things sway,
Creatures large and small flow,- part of one endless day
All things are right, everything has it’s place,
Sometimes it’s so hard to see love in another’s face
One moment you’re here, and then you move on,
Why they even tell us we’re whirling electrons!
This symphony of life has no beginning or end,
Trying to figure it out, is like trying to catch wind
When you look at the moon, the sun and the stars,
Do you feel as though, perhaps…you’re from Mars?
It’s easy to see how alien-nation can cause one to rust,
It’s what makes all things go from boom to bust
There are cycles and rhythms we just now can’t see,
But glimpses of truth, vanquish sad duality
So how do you know when you’ve arrived at the place,
Where home feels like home…seeing face to face?
It’s written in canyons, mountains and wide open sky,
Accepting vague illusions is what makes you cry
Our lessons are strong, and most are the same,
No matter who we are, we go as we came
So what did we do with our lines on this stage,
Did we say them with love, doubt or rage?
The questions are many…the answers seem few,
So many are asking…What should we do?
From tall tree standing, to soaring Eagle above,
The answer is everywhere…to just be…love
Seems an easy thing for one to see, do and contemplate,
But it’s really not that different from trying to meditate
On again, off again…come back to the beam,
None of this is anything as what it may seem
But try we do and work we will,
Each beautiful living thing, has a role to fulfill.
